Social Networking !

Orkut, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter now Buzz ... all of them hail from the planet Web 2.0. And some of us humans love living in that planet than on Our Planet Earth.

Social Networking entered my life in the form of Orkut not many years ago. I was thrilled to find my not-in-touch school buddies. The photos, scraps and updates were just amazing. Then there was Picasa, Blogspot. After I moved to America I added one more website - Facebook - and I loved the news feed and the "like" options and then another one - Twitter - for micro-blogging. And now there is the Buzz from Google from my Nexus One making it easy to post from my phone.

Sometimes I get lost with all - now three - these websites. Do I use them to update my status to the whole world or just my friends. Or is it just that I want to follow my friends.

Me thinks the parasites sneaked into our lives; sometimes our privacy and helped a lot of the so called stalkers to follow other lives over the internet. I am sorry if calling it Parasites hurts you ( FB, Twitter etc) but I made that analogy since they have a few similar behaviors. For instance, they cannot survive without their hosts ( users in that case ).

"Why would you want to tell the world what are you doing, where are you and what do you like ?" asked my colleague. "Isn't it awesome I can find all my friends from school and can keep in touch wherever they are." says another excited one. Everyone seems to have their own share of opinions and most of us seem to enjoy it.

Some real good bloggers have inspired me again to scribble something on my blog ... but I am so confused and lost ... dont know what to write ...

Shall I blame Facebook, Twitter and Buzz to make me lazy with micro-blogging or should I blame the stupid work that I do at work !!!

Guess I will make another attempt on this ... ;)
